MULBERRY HOUSE

is an accommodation in the heart of the Vipava valley, where the Trnovo plateau meets the valley’s beautiful sunsets. The house was built in 1805 and renovated in 2019. The rustic-style interior offers all the coziness and authenticity that wood, brick and stone can provide.

As soon as you step inside you will be greeted by a pleasant kitchen and dining room with a TV set. The house features three rooms with double and twin beds and a spacious bathroom. A large balcony reveals a wonderful view of the valley with colorful sunsets with the Dolomites in the background.

The picturesque and diverse countryside offers everything you want - exciting adventures and numerous encounters. May your trip be a relaxing and pleasant experience.

ACTIVITIES

You won’t run out of sights to see as the Vipava valley is considered one of the 10 top destinations to visit in Europe. You can spend the day hiking surrounding hills, jogging, doing different activities on the Soča river and you can also visit Nova Gorica (Slo) and Gorizia (Ita) with their many wonderful sights. The region’s rich culinary offer includes local wines from the Goriška Brda region with its outlook tower.

Must see (up to 30 minutes by car): The Soča river, the tombs of the Bourbons and the monastery, the stone bridge of Solkan, mount Sabotin (World War One battle site), Sveta Gora / Holy mountain (hill-top church), the delightful village of Štanjel with its Ferrari garden and impressive architecture, the amazing view from the church in Vitovlje, the man-made lake of Vogršček, the monument at Cerje, Nanos, Sabotin, the Nova Gorica train station and the adjacent Europe square, connecting Italy’s Gorizia and Slovenia’s Nova Gorica, the Gonjače tower, the village of Šmartno, the castles of Dobrovo, Vipolže, Kromberk and Rihemberk, the Hubelj spring, the Kanal bridge and the Postojna cave.

On the Italian side:The World War One monument of Oslavje, Sistiana beach and Portopiccolo, the castles of Miramare and Duino, the city of Gorizia with its castle and famous street Via Rastello.

Worth a try: Kayaking/rafting on the Soča river, paragliding (Lijak – 5 minutes by car), the Skozno natural window, bungee jumping (Solkan, Kanal), the hills of Škabrijel and Kekec, also the Perla casino – one of the biggest casinos in Europe.
